PHOENIX Millwork: Millwork Laminate Cabinets and Casework for Commerical use in Texas and surrounding states

Phoenix Millwork is pleased to announce several upgrades to our systems both in production and engineering.
In the production realm, there was the arrival of our second, Holzer computer numeric controlled router (CNC) and new SCMI edgebander. These two pieces of equipment will not only act as a backup but double the overall capacity of our current machining and edge banding. With these two acquisitions we will now have the capability to better service the needs of our customer base by running two separate production lines, minimizing down time from maintenance and repairs.  In addition, we will be able to manufacture a more precise product processing fewer parts by hand and more on the CNCs.

Our stone shop has added a new wet saw that can cut mitered cuts which gives us additional capabilities as well at doubling our capacity to handle the production needs of our customer base.

Over the last 9 months we have doubled our engineering/drafting department by promoting personnel with shop experience and sending them to school, hiring experienced drafting personnel from other companies, and bringing in fresh personnel out of drafting school. These improvements should help us with getting submittals out in a timely manner and getting more detail into them to improve the overall experience.

We are excited to be positioned well, for what we see as the gradual upturn in the economy, and look forward to fulfilling the needs of those our loyal customers who have helped sustain us in the economic downturn of the last few years.
From all of us at Phoenix, thank you for your support.

PHOENIX MILLWORK, INC. ANNOUNCES RECENT PROMOTIONS

Our Executive VP and CFO Les Hansen has choosen to retire and has been planning this for the last several years. He says he is looking forward to doing some traveling and just enjoy his family. We are sad to see him leave but grateful for his friendship and the service he has performed here at Phoenix during his time with us. This was no surprise and Les has not left us without having taken the necessary steps over the last 2 years to train our staff to step into the positions left open as he leaves.

With his "semi-retirment" there have been several positions restructured and we are proud to announce that we are able to make several promotions from within our ranks of qualified seasoned staff. The promotions we are announcing are as follows.

Vice President Lori Biehle, is now promoted to Chief Financial Officer.  She began her career with Phoenix Millwork in 2006 as the Accounting and Administration Executive.  Since then, she moved into the Controller position and continued to build on her varied accounting background with those issues specific to the construction industry.  She will be involved in streamlining the processes to improve efficiency and profitability. Lori will work closely with the Executive Team to guide Phoenix in becoming the premier millwork company in the construction industry.

Audra Holston was promoted to Controller and is now an officer of Phoenix Millwork.  She holds a degree in Accounting and began working for Phoenix as Assistant Controller in 2012.  She was hired to setup and manage our Sales & Use Tax Department.  Since then, she has rapidly expanded her knowledge of the construction industry.  Her primary responsibilities will be, but are not limited to, financial reporting, cash management and cash projections.  Her dedication and knowledge is asset to our team.

Rosio Infante has now been promoted to Assistant Controller.  She also holds a degree in Accounting.  She began work at Phoenix in 2013 in Accounts Receivable.  She rapidly moved to Billing and then became the Administrator for the entire AR department.  She was more than qualified to move into the Assistant Controller position.  Her work ethic and willingness to take on new projects has been a tremendous benefit to Phoenix.

This year we have added a second dowel insertion machinc, a second automatic case clamp, and a CNC Beam Saw to our production facility.  We now have two complete production lines.  The addition of these machinces has enabled Phoenix to employ additional personnel and ramp up production to the point they are able to outperform our estimating, drafting, and engineering capacity. The next area we will work on will be to increase our Estimating and Engineering Departments to supply work for the production team. We will be looking to hire a millwork estimator and a Microvellum programmer over the course of the next year.

We had announced in February that Les Hansen was going to retire but "you just cant keep the old guy down".   We have asked him to take on some special projects on a limited schedule and he jumped at the chance.  So we are happy to announce Les is back working with us again.
